International Award for Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) Scientist

Coimbatore: V. Saravanakumar, Assistant Professor of Agricultural Economics, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, has won the award for the “Best Research Paper” in Sri Lanka recently.

According to a university release, Mr. Saravanakumar received the award from Vice-Chancellor Harishchandra Abeygunawardena, at the international conference held at the Post-Graduate Institute of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.

His research paper titled “A Pricing Model for Milk-based on Cost Production” was adjudged the best in the category of agricultural economics and extension.

It proposed that the pricing of milk was to be determined based on the cost of production rather than on the existing dual axis pricing policy.

His research findings are expected to increase milk production, per capita milk availability and nutritional security in developing countries.
