Internet rumors that comedian Dave Chappelle would be doing an impromptu show at midnight in Pioneer Courthouse Square in downtown Portland caught fire this evening.

While it’s still not clear whether Chappelle will show up, many of his fans were already on hand by 10:45 p.m. in anticipation.

People in a group of cars drove around the square, with passengers yelling things like “where’s Dave Chappelle.”
